About

Hello, welcome to Christopher and Tobias!

Thank you for showing interest and supporting my small shop!

My name is Jenni and I am the maker behind Christopher and Tobias. I am a wild home schooling, cloth diapering mama of four boys. My shop is named after my youngest two. My oldest two boys are adults, pursing their dreams and families of their own -I Corinthians 13: 4-7

I started out sewing by making baby and children’s blankets. However, with the encouragement of a good friend, I decided to use my skills to start making clothing. When I began to pursue handmade clothing, I found a huge gap in the boy clothing market. I wanted comfortable, quality clothing for my boys to wear while exploring the world. Instead, I found that most clothing stores focus strongly on girl centered clothing, and I wanted to help change that. That is when I began C+T and poured my heart into making sustainable boys clothing.

While researching fabrics for my clothing, I found that there was a huge discrepancy in the quality, care and sourcing. I have chosen organics for multiple reasons. The biggest one is this - “The garment and textile industry is the second largest polluter of our planet, second to oil. The demand for fast/cheap fashion has become so high that the garment production chain- from design, to the consumer's hands- is poisoned with child labor, unsafe working conditions, and the destruction of our environment. Nothing about the industry is moral and sustainable.” (direct quote from one fabric source)

I believe in doing my part to care for our home planet, and to care for our future generations. Your skin is your body's largest organ and it can absorb from anything that it touches. Clothing touches your child’s skin almost unceasingly from the moment they are born and continues throughout their entire life. I want to help give parents stylish options for their little one that don’t contain the harsh pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals that conventional clothing contains.
-Isaiah 27:3-

As mentioned above, my goal was to produce both high quality and sustainable clothing, therefore I choose to source high quality fabrics that are USA, or European Milled, certified with the Organic or OEKO TEK labels. If I am unable to find desired fabric sourced in the US, I use European-milled certified organic fabrics.

Sewing has always been a grounding point for me, offering me a source of peace and comfort. Each item is handmade with love by me, in my home. Every piece of clothing I make is made slowly, without rush. Every seam gone over to ensure it’s durability for years to come. Before shipment your order is prayed over for blessings for your child.
-John 12:36
